The new cover has a removable cap above the clutch. Without having to drain the oil or coolant,
the cover is easily lifted off by removing just six screws and the clutch can be replaced in minutes
saving time and reducing the risk of loosing or contaminating the coolant and oil.


After developing a custom clutch cover used on the BMW F650 GS last year for Nick Plumb
and Simon Pavey for their Dakar race, Charley requested the same for his team entered on the Dakar rally commencing Dec 31st 2005.
We had to precisely measure the existing standard clutch cover and then re-design it with a removable cap. To change the clutch with the standard cover involves the draining of the coolant and oil, the gear lever and clutch lever then has to be removed and the whole cover lifted off. This can prove tricky in the middle of the desert in a possible sandstorm!
